Hey guys,

I am BEYOND happy to be blogging again. In a couple more weeks, I will be even happier. This site is going to be AMAZING, and I can’t wait for you all to see it.

What have I been doing all this time? I’ve been in Toronto. Although Toronto gets a lot of flack (horrible weather, snobbery, expensive), the positive qualities of my birthplace outweigh the negatives. The amount of talented artists (street art near Spadina), delicious food (Burrito Boyz), cool architecture (Royal Ontario Museum), things to do = the best in Canada. Unlike the laid back energy of Vancouver, Toronto feels more ambitious — people thrive from creating cool stuff.

First stop? Queen West. Considered Toronto’s hipster haven, Queen West is home to gourmet hotdogs, tattoo shops, coffee shops and places where you can even buy charcoal juice (seriously — what’s the deal with that)? On this street of dreams, I have three favourite places: Black Market Vintage, Dark Horse, and Due West. Yearning for a teeshirt that children will shield their eyes from, or $10 shades to cover half your face? Black Market Vintage. Want the best coffee in the world? Dark Horse. Want to oggle clothing curated by someone way cooler than you? Due West.

Yesterday, I decided to hit up these three spots for some “back to school shopping” (AKA everyone’s excuse to spend too much money). Although my vulgar teeshirt and black coffee didn’t set me back financially, its hard to resist Due West. Alas, I caved and purchased these Y-3’s, and I am completely in love. Not only do they have a two inch heel and a slim fit, but they are also wicked comfortable — and coordinate with anything. A dress. Gym shorts. Jeans. You name it. The platform is thick, yet the shoe appears sleek — making me look way taller than I actually am (not that I need that –I’m 5’11). Paired with a bralette and shorts, it’s the perfect “lazy day 30 celcius look.”

See you this coming Tuesday! I’ll be creating some back-to-school content in coming weeks — stay tuned <3.
